Today was a pretty good day. I love Wednesdays!! On Wednesdays we have chapel, and then at lunch time some of the students get together for prayer-meeting. Then I got to talk with my friend a bit. At school it is really hard to find time (in my schedule) to talk to my friends. I am a very social person- so this is crucial to me!!
I am right next to my dad right now, working on his computer. On Saturday, my dad health declined. He hasn't eaten since Saturday night. Yesterday, he smiled and had a little conversation. But today, since noon, he has been sleeping most of the time. He woke up briefly when Pastor Matt visited, and when his parents came. My mom had to kiss him three times to wake him up. She is very happy because he kissed her back. He appears to be resting comfortably. My mom continues to read his e-mails to him, so please keep on sending them. God continues to sustain my mother, and the other eleven of us. God is so good. God is indescribable. He is so amazing!
God is teaching me, that I need to go to HIM before I go to my friends, and I have to most amazing friends, who are always there, so it is tempting. I continue to struggle with that. But I am thankful for all of my wonderful friends, as many people don't even have one good friend. Well I have many!

Well, it is getting late, and I need to do somethings. So until next time.

  2. I am a 64 year old Grandma who loves the Lord very much. I have been praying for all of you but especially you kids as I lost my dad to cancer when I was 9 and my brother 12. It was so long ago, but I still can remember it well. He was 40 years old and fought the cancer for 3 years. I know that the Lord sustains us no matter what and I will continue to pray for you.
    In His Love,

  3. Dear Sunshine,
My Mom had pancreatic cancer 6 years ago. Even though I was 43 yrs old then & a nurse, it was the most painful experience in my life. She also had Alzheimers disease and severe COPD from smoking. She lost her ability to speak properly but could still recognize who we all were. God brought us through it all and made us closer as siblings. He took her home to be with our Lord. We all miss her terribly, but are relieved that she is not suffering. I pray for you every day throughout the day & night as God leads. Please know what a tremendous blessing & encouragement you and your family are to so many people. God is using your family in an awesome way.
    In Christian love,
    Mrs. Schreck

  4. Can I just tell you I think you are an amazing young woman. It is so obvious how much you love your dad and how close your family is to each other. You are making your earthly dad and your Heavenly Father so proud. I work with teenagers and I wish I could encounter more young people with your faith and perspective. We pray for your family all the time and even though we haven't met face to face, let me tell you that I love you and care.

  5. Allison, You don't remember me but when your parents and Morgan lived in Ga. I certainly remember when you came to join the family. We were all so excited! Merrily and Jim were going to have a little girl! And precious you were! I remember helping honoring you with a baby shower. As I read your blogsight, it is so apparent you have grown into a "Sunshine for His Glory" How proud your Mama and Dad must be of their little sunshine. Allison, I know it must so painful to know your sweet Dad is going through this time. But at the same time, your Dad is so prepared for abundant life here on earth and in Heaven. He is ready and willing to be wherever God calls him to be. Ever since I knew him, he has been prepared. He has always been a true servant, a man after God's own heart. I can promise you, God has a very special place prepared for him and he is going to love it! We are all in God's hands and His master plan for us is perfect. I love you, precious Allison. Give your Mom and Dad my love, Cathie Price

  6. Hey, sweet Allie. I know you won't remember me, but I sure remember you. You have grown into the most beautiful young woman. I wish I could be there to give you a huge hug. Know that I have loved you from afar and think of you often. There are so many people in GA praying for you as you go through saying goodbye to your sweet daddy. I am praying for you. I pray that God will continue to show Himself to you--that you will see His glory through this process, as your dad will soon behold Him in heaven. You and your family are much loved. Give your mom and dad our love as well. Love "Miss" Tricia Wilson

  8. Hi, I knew your Mom and Dad from Mountain View UMC down in Marietta, GA. I was in a Bible study with your Mom. I was in a Reunion Group with your Dad for a while. Ask him about the Walk to Emmaus, if he hasn't told you already. All that was a long time ago, but I remember them well, because they were special people.

I've been following your Dad's blog and got here on a tip from Winston. I think you are one terrific girl, not to mention photogenic! I bet you are a lot like your Mom.

I am holding you and your family in my heart during this time. Please say hi to Mom and Dad from me (and Vicki).

  9. I am so glad you are posting an update on your dear daddy! I pray for him so often! I have been looking for updates since Saturday. I am a Hospice Nurse so I know what you are going through, physically speaking...of course, the emotional side must be so hard! I praise the Lord for your faithfulness to Him through all of this and I am so glad you have found comfort in the arms of Jesus.

Tell your mom that if she would consider sharing her thoughts and experiences I know many here would be blessed. She is walking a road many of us may face and it sounds like the Lord is keeping her in His grace. No pressure!!! :-) She has quite enough on her plate right now!

I found your dad's website through myawesomeoliveshoots. My husband graduated West Point in 1985 and we have a son who hopes to go there in 7 years :-)

I have been blessed by the writings of your dad.

    Your dad sure loves you...
